MOUNT TAMBUYUKON

MOUNT TAMBUYUKON

Mount Tambuyukon, standing at 2,579 meters, is the third-highest peak in Sabah, Malaysia, and is located within the UNESCO-listed Kinabalu Park. Known for its rich biodiversity, it is home to unique flora and fauna, some endemic to the region. While less frequented than Mount Kinabalu, Tambuyukon offers a challenging and remote trekking experience, with steep climbs and rugged terrain, making it a haven for experienced hikers. The mountain is culturally significant to the indigenous Kadazan-Dusun people, with local legends and traditions linked to the natural landscape. As part of Kinabalu Park, it is a crucial area for conservation, preserving rare species and diverse ecosystems.
