Take a flight to Takaran or Berau, Indonesia. Then stay 1 night at Berau.
Then you have to go to Tanjung Batu via e-hailing. Tanjung Batu is the main port for boats heading to Derawan islands. Next, take a speedboat to Maratua Island.
The boat journey takes 2-3 hours depending on the weather situation. It is recommended to book the speedboat a day before your trip but you also can reserve when you arrive the jetty.
OR there are also direct flight from Balikpapan, Takaran or Berau, Indonesia to Maratua.
