Getting There & Staying Over
Drive ~1–2 hrs to Kuala Abai or Rampayan Jetty in Kota Belud, followed by a 40–60-minute speedboat ride to the islands
Best visiting window: April–September when seas are calmer
Accommodation ranges from basic stilted “sulaps” and homestays to small resorts with dive lodges and beach huts
Sample Day Itinerary
- Early pickup from KK → Kota Belud jetty
- Boat ride to Mantanani → snorkeling or diving sessions
- Lunch at a beachside basecamp
- Afternoon: free swim, kayak, beach chill
- Optional sunset cruise
- Return to jetty → back to Kota Kinabalu
