The center is situated within the Samboja Lestari compound, approximately 30-40 kilometers north of Samarinda. To reach the Samboja Lestari area, you may hire a taxi or private car. Please inform the driver that your destination is the Sun Bear Conservation Centre located within the Samboja Lestari compound.

Visitors can enjoy a stay in the Balikpapan area, conveniently located just a 35-minute drive from the centre.
