KALABAKAN ROAD

Kalabakan Road is a lesser-known yet incredibly special route in Sabah, Malaysian Borneo. Stretching through the heart of the forested interior, this road connects the towns of Kalabakan and Tawau, winding through remote jungles, plantations, and protected areas.


What makes this road truly unique is its reputation as one of the few places where travelers may encounter wild Bornean elephants right by the roadside.

how to go there ? 

  • SELF DRIVE
    It is advisable to drive there. Rent a vehicle and drive from Tawau to Maliau Basin or back.
