1. You will need permission to drive into Danum Valley itself, and the road requires 4x4 car. I would book directly with either the field centre or BRL.
2. It takes at least 8 hours to get from KK to Lahad Datu. It's better to fly with MAS Wings. From Lahad Datu, you need to join a tour of Danum Valley.
1. If budget allows, we usually take a flight to Sandakan as it will save plenty of your time. Try AirAsia, MasWing, or FireFly; they all operate daily flights to SDK.
2. From SDK, most resorts in Kinabatangan areas will have transportation arrangements from teh SDK airport to their resorts, with a charge.
3. Ask Kinabatangan Wildlife Lodge where and what time your pickup in Sandakan is. They should be able to pick you up from Sandakan and back.
